Huaiyin Institute of Technology is Seeking Innovative Professionals

Huaiyin Institute of Technology attaches great importance to, and actively conducts academic exchanges and cooperation on research and development with institutions outside the mainland. Therefore, we seek innovative foreign professionals for teaching and scientific research. Relevant notice is as follows:


a. Observe the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China;

respect Chinese nation’s customs; have no legal disputes or criminal records in home country.

b. Good health, favorable personal qualities, realistic and rigorous science attitude, healthy mentality and team spirit.

c. Foreign professional teachers should have a doctoral degree and meet the relevant professional requirements and research direction; applicants who hold an assistant professorship or equivalent positions in internationally renowned universities or research institutions are preferred. Foreign language teachers should have a bachelor’s degree or above, two-year relevant working experience and meet the job requirements.


a. Those that are engaged will have an annual salary accordingly.Annual salary (pretax) for foreign professional teachers: lecturer 150,000-180,000RMB; associate professor 170,000-200,000RMB; professor 200,000-220,000RMB (specific salary follows personal interview);

Annual salary for foreign language teachers: bachelor or lecturer 70,000-80,000RMB; master or associate professor 80,000-90,000RMB; doctor or professor 100,000-120,000RMB (specific salary follows personal interview).

b. Medical insurance for appointees are provided by HYIT;

c. On-and-off campus apartment will be provided free of rent. (Other living costs are not included);

d. Travelling expanses will be reimbursed once a year (from the living areas to Huai’an or to the closest airport in Nanjing, Economy Class).


a. The first term of appointment is three years during which full-time working is required. Continuing employment is likely and is by mutual agreement (for less than three years employment, specific requirements are made by negotiation ).

b. During the employment, foreign professional teachers should undertake two courses, guide students in their practice and direct them to write undergraduate papers. The teaching workload is 6-10 periods a week, and 340-360 periods a year. Those who gain great achievement in scientific research can enjoy a workload reduction according to the award policy of HYIT. Foreign language teachers should accomplish 12-16 periods a week, 16-17 weeks a semester, as well as course assessment and other related teaching works.

c. In addition, positive engagement in subject and specialty construction is also required.

About Huaiyin Institute of Technology (HYIT)

Established in 1958, Huaiyin Institute of Technology is a multi-disciplinary engineering institute under Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. It is located in Huaian, a famous historical & cultural city as well as the hometown of the first Premier of P.R.C Zhou Enlai. In 2000 it was upgraded to an undergraduate institute granting bachelor’s degree. In September 2011, it was selected as one of the pilot institutions undertaking “A Plan for Educating and Training Outstanding Engineers (PETOE)”. In October 2011, approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, it was authorized to offer Master Degree of Engineering.

HYIT has two campuses—Meicheng Road Campus and Beijing Road Campus— covering an area of about 2070 mu (about 148 hectares). There are about 17,800 registered regular students studying for bachelor's degrees or master’s degree. HYIT has a staff of 1,366, among whom there are 1,037 faculty members, including 454 professors and associate professors. HYIT actively promotes to build the first Taiwanese Businessman College in china with Chung Hua University and other 2 universities in Taiwan. It also sets up a HYIT-ZTE College with ZTE Corporation. It has jointly established the Research Institute of Northern Jiangsu with Jiangsu Provincial Academy of Social Sciences, and co-built Huai’an Businessman College with Huai’an Federation of Industry and Commerce.

HYIT has been upholding the school motto “Study for the Rise of China”, adhering to competence-oriented education and focusing on the development of students’ practical abilities and innovation spirit. Every year, more than ten percent of the students further their master program education, and the employment rate maintains as high as ninety-six percent.
